Three years ago, Rachel Crethar’s idea of wellness involved eating particular foods and exercising a certain number of times a week. That was until she founded Rock & Co, an online store selling curated wellness products and crystals.
Rachel was juggling a career and motherhood when she read that citrine crystals invite money and happiness. “I bought one and visualized money pouring through our front door. The following week, money came from places we hadn’t anticipated,” Crethar says. “I dived in and took a crystal healing course. It felt like a fun creative outlet.”
For two years she worked on the store at night while her children were in bed, and today her dream is her full-time job. “Each step of growth for the business has been a big personal leap for me,” she smiles. No two days are alike in her “office,” which happens to be her kitchen table.
Surrounded by great books, beautiful plants, and meaningful photos, Crethar feels happy working from her home in Sydney, Australia. “That said, I feel like I can’t sink my teeth into work until the house is clean. I fantasize about a real office.”
Crethar also runs crystal introduction workshops around Australia and New Zealand and handpicks all of the crystals that she sells. “I lovingly cleanse them, which is what sets them apart. I’ve been told that they have a lovely energy when they arrive in people’s homes.”
Crystals are a part of her home life too. “I use them all over the place!” Crethar laughs. “They support me with an instant mood shift. More subtly, they’ve also helped me connect with myself. Crystals, essential oils, meditation, to me, wellness is the way you look after your mental health — anything that makes you feel the most you!” Check out the list below for four crystals she says you need in your home.
1. Rose Quartz
I feel like everyone should own some rose quartz! It’s known as the love stone, helping you with the most important relationship — the one with yourself. They increase self-love, self-worth, and confidence. I keep one near my mirror to help me with any negative self-talk. They are also beautiful for your bedside table.
Selenite is known for increasing intuition, grounding, and protection. I have little ones in each of the kids’ bedrooms, and I have a big giant log that I love to place under my feet to ground after a busy day or if I’m doing any writing.
3. Black Tourmaline
Black tourmaline is wonderful for protection. I grid my house with four pieces of black tourmaline and I always keep one in the car, too.
Citrine is known to increase happiness and bring abundance into your life. It’s also known as the “merchants stone.” I keep one in my wallet and one by my computer when I’m working on new projects.
