Dolly Parton is clearly determined to help make the Christmas season even brighter than her vibrant wardrobe this year.
Along with her latest album, A Holly Dolly Christmas (Buy on Amazon, $14.81), we can look forward to several upcoming festive specials — the first of which will be airing live tomorrow morning, November 13, at 12 pm CT on Amazon Live.
The livestream is called Dolly Parton’s Comin’ Home for Christmas and will be hosted by funnyman Leslie Jordan. Along with a few performances from Dolly, fans also have the opportunity to submit questions for a Q&A by commenting on the singer’s social media posts promoting the event, like the one shown below.
There’s still plenty of time to send in your questions and cross your fingers they get picked! Considering what an open book Dolly is, there’s no telling what secrets she might spill.
After that, we won’t have to wait long for her Netflix musical, Christmas on the Square, which is debuting just before Thanksgiving on November 22. In the film, Dolly plays an angel sent to help guide a Scrooge-like woman threatening to ruin the holidays by evicting residents of her small hometown. Take a look at the trailer below:
And if those weren’t enough to fill you with all the warm and fuzzy feelings we need this holiday season, Dolly will be airing an hourlong CBS special, also titled A Holly Dolly Christmas, on Dec 6 at 8:30 pm ET.
According to a press release, she will again be performing songs from her latest album. However, this time it will be in an “intimate, candlelit set” featuring “powerful, faith-filled hymns and light-hearted holiday classics… sharing personal Christmas stories and faith-based recollections of the season.” Sounds like the perfect thing to enjoy with a nice cup of hot cocoa.
We aren’t surprised that someone as angelic as Dolly is giving us so much joy over the holiday season, but we’re especially grateful this year!
