Allison Janney Reveals Why She Never Had Kids — And the TV Hunk She’s ‘Virtually Dating’

Allison Janney isn’t shy when it comes to discussing her personal life. Although she plays a parent on the hit CBS sitcom Mom, the 61-year-old recently opened up about why she never became a mother herself — and reveals the surprising crush she has today.

“I think if I would have found the right guy at the right time who wanted to have kids, I probably would have,” Janney told Drew Barrymore while chatting on the her talk show. She added with a laugh, “I would rather regret not having kids than have kids and regret that.”

Janney doesn’t seem to be filled with a sense of missing out on anything in life, though. Well, except for one thing: She might be kicking herself for taking so long to embrace her natural gray hair

“I cannot tell you how amazing it is to feel free — free from hair color and hair extensions and hair tape and blah blah blah…” she gleefully told Barrymore. “To be able to run my hands through my hair — and hopefully sometime a man will be able to run his hands through my hair and appreciate it — it’s just heaven. I’m just enjoying this new chapter in my hairdo world.”

Apparently, if Janney could choose anyone to gently caress her strands, it would be her current crush, Rip Wheeler from the show Yellowstone, whom she jokes about “virtually dating” (AKA just in her own mind while she watches the show, but we can relate!). The character is played by actor Cole Hauser, but it sounds like she’s more interested in his fictional counterpart.

Take a look at the clip below to hear more from the actress — and see her gorgeous silver locks.

All kidding aside, Janney is clearly more focused on herself right now rather than finding a partner. “This time of my life, I’m getting to know who I am and what I want,” she said. “So, I’d love to eventually find someone to share my life with — but if it doesn’t happen, I think I’ll be just fine.”

We’re sure the talented actress will be more than “just fine” no matter what happens next for her, but absolutely love her positive outlook!
