I don’t know about you, but once summer comes around I hate wearing face makeup.
When it comes to warm weather, increased humidity, and sweat-inducing temperatures, the less I wear this time of year the better. But as someone who genuinely enjoys wearing makeup and finds it to be a therapeutic part of her morning routine, I don’t want to stop wearing makeup entirely. That’s why there’s only one face product I’ll use once it starts to warm up: Nars’ Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer ($45, Sephora).
So what is it that I love about this product? To sum it up, it’s an impressive makeup and skincare product. Let’s talk about it as makeup. First and foremost, it’s featherlight. When I wear this tinted moisturizer, it barely feels like I have a thing on — something that can’t really be said for heavier bases like foundations and powders. But while I may not feel like I’m wearing anything on my face, I can still tell that I am by looking in the mirror (and not in the “sheesh this looks like I’m wearing a lot of makeup” way). After applying this moisturizer, my skin looks hydrated, luminous, and, most important, even. Providing the perfect amount of coverage, this moisturizer lets only the slightest bit of redness on my cheeks peek through, something I don’t mind in the summer as it makes me look more sun kissed than rosacea riddled.
Now let’s talk about it as skincare, because it does a lot. As you might’ve guessed, this tinted moisturizer is pretty effective on dry skin. So what’s behind its hydrating power? Made with a blend of mineral-rich sea water, kopara, and vitamin C, this moisturizer actively nourishes skin, hydrating, encouraging cell renewal, and easing the look of hyperpigmentation with each use. With so much of my time spent in and around air conditioners, the sun, and chlorine come summer, my skin can get extremely dry, making this my secret to dewy, hydrated skin all summer long.
But I’m not the only fan of this product for dry skin. In fact, Sephora customers can’t help but rave about it, with one exclaiming, “As I got older, my skin has gotten dry and I had trouble wearing foundation. It always felt tight and dry. Finally, I tried this and I love, love, love it. It never breaks out my sensitive skin. This is perfect for me!” Another went on to say, “I have been searching for a while for a tinted moisturizer sheer enough not to show the lines on my face, but that has coverage. This is that product. Goes on smooth and stays all day. Highly recommend for mature skin.”
So if you’re like me and you prefer a lighter look come the sunny days of summer, you can’t go wrong with the the Nars Pure Radiants Tinted Moisturizer. With incredible coverage, powerful skin-boosting ingredients, and SPF 30, this lightweight tinted moisturizer might just be the ultimate three-in-one summer skincare product. But don’t just take it from me, try it out for yourself! You may just find yourself wondering how you survived summer without it.
